BD FACS Aria III 4L - USZ

4 laserlines are available spatially separated for excitation: 405 nm (violet), 488 nm (blue), 561 nm (yellow/green) and 633 nm (red). Note: 375 nm and 405 nm Lasers cannot be used simultaneously. The instrument can record up to 16 parameters in parallel as described in the optical configuration.

70 µm, 85 µm, 100 µm and 130 µm nozzles are available for cell sorting of material ranging from bacteria to large cells like fat cells or tubules.

The sorter is operated by independent power users and power user in training on an exceptional base. Power user can use the sorter 24/7 but must have successfully passed the power user training beforehand.

Please consult our guidelines for sample preparation if you are unclear about how to prepare your cells for the sorting.

Samples as well as collected cells can be kept at desired temperature (4° - 42°C).

Sorted cells can be collected in following containers

• 4 x 5 ml tubes,
• 2 x 15 ml falcons,
• 4 x 1.5 ml eppis,
• 6 well, 24 well, 48 well, 96 well and 384 well plates
• onto microscopic slides

An aerosol management system allows cell sorting up to biosafety level 2 on this machine.

The sorter is located at the University Hospital at Schmelzbergstrasse 12.
